Morning Prayer
As I prepare to face this new day,
I ask you, Jesus, to:
Ready my senses,
that I may delight in the wonder of your creation,
Ready my mind,
that I may fathom the wisdom that has confounded the ages,
Bless me as I make time to play today,
that I would find joy in a break from the ordinary,
Make me a blessing to those I encounter,
that your people would be encouraged,
and that your enemies might be inspired
to seek peace with their merciful creator. Amen.
Midday Prayer
As I pause for a moment today,
I ask you, Spirit, to:
Ready my resolve,
that I would serve with dedication, integrity, and gratefulness,
Ready my heart,
that I would recognize the burdens around me and
offer myself, selflessly, as an agent of your compassion,
Bless me as I take time to work today,
that I would find hidden wonder in the ordinary,
Make me a blessing to those I encounter,
that your people would be reassured,
and that your enemies might be inspired
to seek peace with their merciful creator. Amen.
Evening Prayer
My day has been filled with both blessings and opportunities.
Thank you for both, and I beg your pardon for those overlooked.
May I never overlook the reconciliation you so freely offer.
As I prepare to retire,
I ask you, Father, to:
Ready my soul,
that I would consider the wonder of your grace,
and have the humility to truly accept it,
Ready my spirit,
that I may find respite in the peace you have fashioned,
Bless me as I take time to rest tonight,
that I would awake tomorrow, renewed and eager to serve again. Amen.
