Urban Skye Art & Design is a vibrant community of artists and designers who seek to create an art-friendly environment in Denver. Through social gatherings, art shows, shared studio time and community service, Urban Skye A&D offers artists the opportunity to develop relationships and their artistic visions. We also strive to take the intimidation out of the arts for those who have never considered themselves creative, and to support each other in our individual creative endeavors.
One vital role of the artist is to help others to stop and look, to remind them that there is beauty to be seen in humble things, in simple shapes and subtle colors.

First Friday Art Walk. The first Friday of every month local galleries in the city stay open late to allow people the opportunity to view local artists’ work. We meet at a designated gallery and then travel together through several others. Once the walk is finished, we get together for drinks or coffee to discuss what we viewed.
Joint Studio Time Do you find that you keep putting off a project? Have you wanted to start sketching, painting, sculpting or drawing again but you’re just not motivated? Are you longing to be around other artists and designers for creative exchange? We meet at the Skye House one Thursday month at 7:00 pm to both work on projects and share common passions. Hors d’ouerves and beverages provided.
Common Project Once a quarter we meet to work on common projects. Past projects have included Polaroid transfers, collage journals, altered books, and decoupage’. The meeting time varies. Hors d’ouerves and beverages provided.
Blog Join the discussion at the Soul and Culture Blog.

It’s all a big game of construction, some with a brush, some with a shovel, some choose a pen.
