At Urban Skye Art Day Camp, we are committed to creating a summer art program that stimulates and enriches your child’s imagination with a wide variety of techniques and materials. Our teaching staff are trained experts in their fields who will help expand your child’s horizons with caring and patient instruction.

Music and Vocal

An imaginative and hands-on introduction to singing jazz, pop, and funk music. We will tackle the three disciplines of great singers: listening, doing, and creating. Using games, stories, body motions, and art, we will learn good vocal technique, listen to great singers of the past 50 years, and also try on the ins-and-outs of singing funk and jazz, including a fun introduction to scat singing. Singers will have the opportunity to collaborate on a group composition to be performed at the final showcase. No experience is necessary for this workshop, but it is open and appropriate for young singers of all levels. It’s going to be a week of song, imagination, and positive explorations into music-making!

For Grades K-2nd & 3rd – 5th (Have been to Kindergarten but haven’t been in 6th grade.)

Photography

The difference between taking a good photo or an average one is knowing a few simple guidelines. In this class we will have fun:

Fine Art

This week we will explore the basic elements of art and design by creating fun and imaginative art pieces that will become a part of your families memories. We’ll do this through the use of paint, paper, collage and found objects just to name a few. Your young artist will learn to create without fear of judgment in order to have fun and discover more about themselves.

For grades K-2nd & 3rd – 5th (Have been to Kindergarten but haven’t been in 6th grade.)

Drama

We’ll explore drama through playing improvisation games, memorizing monologues and learning to listen to other actors on stage. Your child will walk away having had fun, having learned new theater skills and being more confident in themselves.

For grades 6 - 8 (Have been in 6th but haven’t been in 9th grade.)
