This Advent Guide is a compilation of 25 individual devotions which have been published by Urban Skye in the past. There are a number of authors, all pastors, each having his or her distinctive voice. You’ll notice a repetition of themes as you read into the month of December:    

• There are meditations on the sacred places of the Christmas story.    

• There are reflections upon the lives of Mary and Joseph.    

• There are days when we’ll be looking at the prophecies about the coming of Christmas which are hidden in the Old Testament.      

• We will study some of the “minor” characters of the Christmas Story who really aren’t “minor” at all— for all people were important in the saga God was writing.      

• In addition, we’ll ponder the lyrics of some beloved Christmas carols, for the Gospel is present in these as well. This guide is designed to be used individually, in a small group or family, and within a congregation or community. May it be a daily springboard for your deeper reflection on Jesus during the holiday season.
